Visitors are drawn to beautiful Anne's Beach located at Mile Marker 74 at the south end of Lower Matecumbe Key. This key has a rich history and is the site of a number of Indian mounds. This key attracted settlers as it had natural freshwater wells prior to the construction of Henry Flagler's Overseas Highway. Today, it is home to the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base. Lower Matecumbe Key is located between Mile Markers 75 and 78.
